I’ve been having pretty regular contractions for a while now. They come and they go. Last night they started up around 8pm and went all night long and have continued all day today. They are uncomfortable, but not really what I would consider painful. Pain is a relative term.. Anyways… to see if I could keep them going or get them going stronger I loaded Jax up as I have done almost everyday for the past few weeks and we went to town. Today, we hit Wal-Mart to walk around and to get diapers. Let me just tell you a FEW of the comments I received:
- I passed a little girl in a basket not much older than Jax who said to me… “Why are you hiding a ball in your shirt?” I laughed. Her mama explained to her it was a baby and not a ball. She then said, “well why is it round then? Babies aren’t round.”
- Random manager approaches me and tells me that I’m “flushed and sweaty and should probably be at the hospital and not out shopping.” She said she didn’t want me to have the baby in the store.
Everyone that I made eye contact with asked when my baby was due. When I told them last Saturday they all had advice on how to get her to come out faster:
- One lady said to do some deep knee bends.
- Another told me to go home and have a beer.
- A very old lady told me it was time for castor oil.
- Another indicated that she was afraid my hips weren’t wide enough…
- One insisted there was NO way it was only one baby.
On the way to the register, I refused to look at anyone or smile at anyone… because I’m contracting, my back hurts and I’m so ready to have this baby so I can not be so pathetic looking anymore. I miss the days where people don’t speak to you in the store unless they run you over with their cart.
I get home to where I think I’m safe. I got Jax to sleep and then I put up the junk that I spent way too much money on. As soon as I sit down to a glass of Ginger Ale and the freaking door bell rings…. Two very nice ladies are going door to door handing out pamphlets about “The Truth.” I open the door and she doesn’t even talk about what she knocked on my door for… The first thing she said was “OH, MY I hope you are going to have that baby soon. This let to a 5 minute conversation about being huge and talking about dialation and yet more things I should do to speed up the process. At the end she says they will pray for me and reaches out and lays her hands on my belly and begins praying that this baby will come out today… I don’t like it when random strangers want to touch me…. much less when they do it without asking…
It’s been an exhausting day. I think I’ll relax and hopefully have the baby soon….

Here are some pictures from Ashton’s 1st basketball game. (They aren’t great… because I took them with my phone… but - hey it’s better than nothing right?)

Jackson and I had a picnic the other day. He was so cute. We started out sharing grapes and strawberries.

He decided that the grapes were his and the strawberries were mine.. He moved them accordingly.

Apparently, I didn’t get the picture so he moved more.

Come to find out… I was supposed to share “my food” with his friend… His Sponge Bob ball. He was actually trying to feed Sponge Bob.

He’s so cute.. I just want to eat him up!!!

I’ve been working really hard on Kylie’s room. Kev painted the walls a bright yellow a couple of weeks ago and put the bed together. I finally got around to making the bed. Today, I made the letter’s to spell KYLIE over her bed. I’m proud of my craftiness! It’s really hard to see the color with the lighting and the YELLOWNESS of the room!

We got Jackson this trike for his bday.

It is made by a German company. It’s a neat trike and all.. but the instructions SUCK. The trike came in about 100 gazillion pieces. It came with ONE page of instructions, if you can call it that. It was just an exploded diagram with pictures. No words.. At least not any of them I could read. There seemed to be some German on the back, but what good does that do me?. There was no order to it.. Luckily, I’m pretty smart so it took me about an hour of glaring at the stupid paper and cursing at the trike to get it put together. I’m sure these type of instructions are not uncommon, but couldn’t they include some numbers or letters or something to tell me to put the underside together before putting the outside on? So that I didn’t have to take it apart and put it back together again. Just a thought!
It was all worth it.. Jackson’s face lit up and he loves to ride the trike. Now, hopefully, Kevin’s face will light up the same, when he comes home tonight and doesn’t have to assemble it!

Last night Ashton and I went to sign up for a cheer leading program that cheers for basketball games. We arrived and filled out the forms, paid, got measured for uniforms, and were ready to head home… UNTIL we saw her friends Sierra and Madison in the Basketball tryout line. We had a little change of heart and decided that basketball would be more fun!
So we got our money back, re-registered for the correct sport, got sized - AGAIN - and had to stand in another line for tryouts. They really look at how much skill and experience each child has and try to make the teams even. Ashton did great! Here is the best picture I could get of her “trying out” with my cell phone, from a distance. She’s so cute.

I think this will be a lot of fun.. I’m honestly glad that she changed her mind. I started playing bball in the 3rd grade and played until high school. I think it will be great exercise for her. And the good news is… the gym is air conditioned. NO sitting out on the hot soccer field while hugely pregnant! Hopefully, the baby will hold off until the games end…. ON MY DUE DATE!

I can’t believe it. Ashton started the 3rd grade today! *Tear* They just built a new school a little less than a mile from our house. So this year she can walk to school. This morning we walked. I thought I was going to die. My butt cheeks tried to go AWOL on me. I was going forward and they just weren’t going to do it. Have you ever seen some one fighting with their own ass? Well, that was me this morning… I’m massaging them while walking down the street. Pounding on them.. telling them that if they don’t take me home right now… I would never feed them anymore of that yummy coconut cake. (We all know that when you eat that stuff… that’s where it goes.) I must have looked like some pot-bellied, butt rubbing, pervert, pushing a stroller, while talking to her bum. Hopefully, anyone in the hundreds of cars that passed by, assumed I was talking to Jackson and not my butt. I don’t remember that walk being so hard in the past… We’ve done it a million times… I guess being 7 months pregnant.. and not walking much lately because of the extreme heat is taking a toll on me. By the time Jax and I returned home I was sweating profusely. I mean drenched.. You’d think I had just run a marathon… But nope… Just a slow walk home and a struggle with my fanny. I’m picking her up in the car this afternoon… I’m not making that journey, again, in the 100 degree heat. I’m going to have a preventative chat with my backside this evening in preparation for tomorrow’s walk!

Yes, I’m alive and well! It’s been so long since I’ve written. Things have been so busy around here…
- At the beginning of July we went to San Francisco for a week for Kevin’s grandmother’s funeral. That was a neat experience. I love the weather there.

- When we got home, my mother came for a visit. We shopped till we dropped and then tried to make some plan as to how I’m going to clean out my office/weight room and make it a baby’s room. You know… where to put the desk, the TV, the weights, and all the miscellaneous junk that has accumulated in here over time. That left me we a huge task and a huge mess that I am still trying to dig out from under it and figure out where to put another baby…
- On top of that, I’m just swamped with web design work….
Update on the kids
Jax:
- 22 months and STILL never stops moving…
- He has however been evicted from our bed and has his very own twin size big boy bed. He does pretty good. He still wakes up a couple of times a night and cries for me… I go and lay with him until he’s back to sleep and then go back to my bed…or sleep there…if I fall asleep. Man, I’m tired….
- He’s now taking a Gymboree class. He’s not much of a “group” person. He pretty much does his own thing until they break out the bubbles or the little purple clown.
- He’s saying quite a few new words and phrases such as oh-well, mine, GO, Ready-set-go, Natalia( NaTahyiah), bubble, Ashton(AhEEEY or Sissy) and baby… just to name a few. He knows a lot more… he just chooses not to say them most of the time.
- I’d like to say that potty training is in our near future so that we could get him out of diapers before the new baby… but I don’t think he’s anywhere near ready yet….
- His eating habits are getting better… He’s still eating ALOT of fruit and downing the soy milk like you wouldn’t believe..but now he eats chicken and steak and CORN on the COB!! He still won’t try the normal things kids love like mac and cheese and potatoes….I guess I shouldn’t complain.

Ashton:
- is getting ready for a big 2 week trip to west Texas. She’s going to visit Grandy, Nana, and Unca Bubba in August. I’ve heard them speak of trips to a huge playground and out to the farm to see her goat who has had babies recently( I think). There will be lots of golf and boating… She is super thrilled.
- She will be starting the 3rd grade at the end of August at a new school that is within walking distance. She is so excited to walk to school. I will be meeting her half way for a while.. I’ll walk to where I can see the school. I just don’t trust all those nuts out there and I need the exercise.

The new baby-
- Who we are calling Kylie Marie (unless something was hiding on the ultrasound).
- I think we are going to do a 3D ultrasound in a few weeks.
- I’ve sold some of Jax’s clothes and bought some girly things, but not a lot. I’m still a little scared!
- I’m now 23 1/2 weeks and she’s kicking like crazy.
- MOST of the morning sickness is gone…FINALLY.
- I have developed some weird issue where something is pinched and my arms go numb when I sleep or type (like right now). It’s quite annoying and painful sometimes. I’m seeing if a chiropractor can fix it. She thinks it’s pregnancy induced. I’ve been once and I think it’s helped a little. We’ll see.
That’s all I can think about right now. I have lots of random pics on my phone to share soon. Look forward to those. I promise I won’t wait another month to post again. Sorry!!! I’m off to the chiropractor now…

We stopped by to drop something off at Maimie’s house this morning. As we pulled up, I noticed Carmen standing inside the house looking out the window with her phone in hand. She ran out and told me, “Not, get out of car, mom - SNAKE!” I looked around to make sure the coast was clear.. I got out and she explained to me that a huge snake was in the bushes. I got Jax out of the car and we made a mad dash for the front door… Well, as mad of a dash as a pregnant woman could. (Picture - Hippo running from a lion or something)
Animal control was called. 2 very brave women were sent out. Animal control explained that most snakes in our region are not poisonous. She proceeded to walk through and wrestle her way through the bushes looking for the illusive snake. There is no way you could have gotten me to go in any bushes LOOKING for a snake.. even if it was PROBABLY not poisonous. The key word is PROBABLY. What if it was, and it was is lost or something? Poison aside - it more than likely still has large sharp and pointy fangs that would probably not feel too swell, were you to accidentally piss it off or something.
Anyways… It was a 4 foot rat snake, so it wasn’t poisonous. She caught the snake and held it for Jax to touch. He wasn’t too sure. He would only get so close then he would run off. It was the funniest thing. His favorite part was when it flickered it’s tongue at him. He mimicked it perfectly. I wish I could have gotten a picture of that… but I didn’t have my camera out at that point. As the lady was packing the snake up in a pillow cloth to take it to where ever snakes are safe… it made a final attempt at freedom via a HOLE in the pillow cloth… We all screamed and ran off… She caught the snake again. It’s a good thing she found out about the hole before she tossed it under the seat in her truck… OR It would have been an interesting ride to snakeville.
